In this episode of “Beyond the Expected,” Michael Bernstein talks to three Stony Brook University administrators who are deep in the trenches of emergency management operations; communications and risk management; healthcare guidance and delivery; and mitigation of the spread of the fast moving pandemic disease that is COVID-19.

  • Marisa Bisiani is Assistant Vice President at the University’s Student Health Services, where she develops and runs programs to help students achieve their academic goals while maintaining their health and well-being.
  • Rick Gatteau is Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.
  • Assistant Chief of Police and Director of the Office of Emergency Management, Lawrence Zacarese, has been instrumental in developing strategies for campus safety during this pandemic event.
