Each year, we honor alumni and other members of the Stony Brook family who were lost on September 11, 2001. Their deaths strengthen our resolve as a University community to foster the most basic ideals of freedom and equality.
On Wednesday, September 11, we will observe a moment of silence at 8:46 am, followed by a new tradition, Volunteer Service Day. Join other students, faculty and staff to remember those who perished and honor those who volunteered.
Volunteer activities are available starting at noon:
- Donate blood at the SAC Ballroom A
- Join Healthier U Walk wearing red, white and/or blue
- Place memorial pinwheels on the Academic Mall
- Help create a message of thanks flag during Campus Lifetime
To volunteer, contact Mary Hoffmann at Mary.Hoffmann@stonybrook.edu or 632-4995 or Anthony LaViscount at Anthony.Laviscount@stonybrook.edu or 632-7320.
