Nepal’s capital Kathmandu and the people and cities around that region have suffered immensely from the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit on the morning of April 25. Relief efforts have been hindered by aftershocks. The death toll is more than 6,000 and climbing. Thousands are injured and missing.
Stony Brook University students have joined with administrators and multiple campus organizations to put together Unite for Nepal, a cultural fundraiser to support Nepal earthquake relief, Monday, May 4, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Student Activities Center, Ballroom B. The event is free but a donation is strongly encouraged. All proceeds will go to the United Nations World Food Programme.
Many teams on campus will be performing, including Taandava, Raas, Junoon, De Taali, YUVA, SBU Bhangra and more.
If you would like to make a donation right now, please visit this gofundme page.
