The MFA program in Creative Writing and Literature and the MFA program in Film will be hosting three separate open houses and information sessions this month at the Stony Brook Southampton campus and at the Southampton Arts Manhattan location on Eighth Avenue.
MFA in Creative Writing director Julie Sheehan and Manhattan Coordinator Alison Fairbrother will host an information session about the MFA in Creative Writing program on Monday, October 16, at 6 p.m. at the Manhattan location, located on the 5th floor of 535 Eighth Avenue, between 36th and 37th Streets.
An open house and information session will also be held at Stony Brook Southampton on Wednesday, October 18 at 5:30 p.m. for prospective MFA in Creative Writing and Literature candidates. The session will take place in the Radio Lounge on the second floor of Chancellors Hall, prior to the Writers Speak Wednesdays event at 7 p.m., featuring Catherine Burns and Tara Clancy of The Moth.
For those interested in writing books for kids—from picture books and early readers to middle grade and young adult fiction—the October 18 open house will also include a presentation on the one-year Children’s Literature Fellows program.
All those interested in attending either event are asked to email rsvp_mfa@stonybrook.edu.
