Students competed in the annual Roth Pond Regatta on April 30, attempting to sail their homemade cardboard boats across the 200-yard Roth Pond. The race, a Stony Brook tradition since 1988, requires that the boats are built only from cardboard, duct tape, rope or string, paint, wax, cloth (to be used only in sails), and Elmer’s glue.
