Editor’s Note: This event has been postponed and will be rescheduled.

The Stony Brook University Provost-Student Advisory Group presents a lecture entitled, “The Affordable Care Act: Effects on College Students.” Dr. John Hassett will deliver this talk on Monday, April 14, at 5 pm in the Charles B. Wang Center Theater.

John Hassett, MD, is board certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine, sleep medicine and pulmonology. He graduated from New York Medical College in 1994, did his internship at New Rochelle Hospital and residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. Dr. Hassett completed a fellowship at North Shore Hospital in 2001 and is affiliated with four hospitals on Long Island: Mercy Hospital; Winthrop University Hospital; North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset; and North Shore University Hospital, Franklin. A healthcare provider to Long Island residents for the past 15 years, Dr. Hassett is an expert on the 2,572-page Affordable Care Act. He lectures and educates people on the effects that ObamaCare will have on the quality of healthcare for our country on all Americans — especially college students.

There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation, which is free and open to the public.
