Three Stony Brook University students, James Balduzzi, Pam Basile, and Wenquian Pan, each won $100 for completing a short survey for the consultative research group, OnCampus Research. Boon Teo, manager of the University Bookstore, awarded the three lucky winners with their checks.
OnCampus Research is the custom market research division of the National Association of College Stores (NACS) that conducts a variety of research related to students buying habits, trends, and other topics. The student panel consists of more than 14,000 students from more than 1,000 different universities and colleges nationwide.
As a participant of the OnCampus Research Student Panel, students periodically receive short surveys via e-mail and upon completion of the surveys are entered to win cash prizes. Their feedback helps companies develop better products and services.
Students can join the panel by visiting www.money4textbooks.com and answering a few basic questions. By doing so, students are entered into a drawing for one of 20 cash prizes valued at $100. Each time a student participates in a market research study they are eligible for additional rewards. These rewards vary depending upon the length and complexity of the survey. OnCampus Research has given away more than $20,000 in prize money to students during the past two years.
The University Bookstore aims to help students save money on their textbooks while also offering friendly and convenient service to the campus community. Money4textbooks is a project of OnCampus Research.
