Organized by the Office of the Dean of Students, the “ Reflect. Love. Act.” program invited community members to reflect on the values we should embrace as a community now and moving forward.

Over 500 students, faculty and staff took the Community pledge and recorded their responses on Post-It notes, which were brought together as a heart-shaped display in the lobby of the Student Activities Center. Also, hundreds of Community Pledge t-shirts, provided by the Division of Campus Residences, were distributed to students who took the pledge, along  with Community Pledge buttons and free hugs.

The Community Pledge is a call to action and opportunity to affirm our commitment to one another and agree to promote “equality, civility, caring, responsibility, accountability, and respect” and recognizing the importance of “understanding and appreciating our differences and similarities.”

We look forward to facilitating additional programs that promote our Community Pledge and our awesomeness as a community of Seawolves,” said Steven Adelson, one of the organizers of this event.
