Second Annual October Food Drive

Stony Brook University, UUPCanned-Foods Community Services Committee, and Long Island Cares are again joining together to help fight hunger this October.

With increased demand for food after tropical storm Irene and with hurricane season just beginning, we need to help each other more than ever. Let’s make this food drive even bigger and better than last year.

Please bring nonperishable boxed and canned food items to one of the Long Island Cares Food Donation Bins that will be located throughout West Campus, East Campus, South Campus, and the Long Island State Veterans Home. Locations are listed on www.uupsbu.org. Please check expiration dates, and no glass items are allowed.

You can also bring nonperishable items to the UUP General Membership meeting on October 25.

Contact the UUP Office at (631) 632-6570 or Nancy Gaugler at (631) 632-6241 if you have any questions or for a more detailed list of food items.
