Homecoming 2011 village 1

Homecoming 2011A sold-out crowd of more than 8,200 fans were treated to a Homecoming game filled with offense, defense, and special teams as the Stony Brook Seawolves defeated the Lafayette Leopards, 37-20, at LaValle Stadium on September 24.

The new Homecoming King, Nicholas Ela, and Queen, Jaime Poynter, were crowned during halftime. Ela is a junior computer science major who is an Undergraduate Student Government Senator and Resident Hall Association President. He is also involved in the National Residence Hall Honorary and Community Service Club. Poynter is a senior psychology major, child and family studies minor, who is a resident assistant in Lauterbur Hall and works as a senior academic peer advisor with Academic and Pre-Professional Advising.

Wolfstock Village featured activities for all—alumni, students, faculty, staff, their families, and community members—including a barbecue buffet, Kids Zone with carnival games and inflatables, and entertainment by Almost Famous. The Spirit of Stony Brook marching band and dance team led fans to the game, and the Seawolves victory was followed with a firework display.
