Hear from an evolutionary biologist who travels the globe to study the bite force of the most powerful jaws on the planet—when Science on Tap resumes its informal discussion program Wednesday, March 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at The Bench, 1095 Route 25A, in Stony Brook.
Paul Gignac, the guest scientist, is a self-professed crocodile fanatic who works with the Department of Anatomical Sciences at Stony Brook. He will take the audience through his childhood love for dinosaurs and his eventual career path as a paleontologist. Live jazz will round out the evening, courtesy of the incomparable Ray Anderson and SBU’s Imaginary Numbers. School of Journalism Professor Steven Reiner, formerly of “60 Minutes,” will host. Appropriate for families with older children.
Reservations are strongly recommended: email journalism@stonybrook.edu or call 632-2133.
