Stony Brook University has once again been cited multiple times in the U.S. News and World Report 2016 Best Graduate Schools rankings, which were released on March 10.

Within engineering, Stony Brook’s programs ranked in the top 100 in the following subspecialties:
Biomedical Engineering/Bioengineering: 46th
Chemical Engineering: 72nd
Computer Engineering: 71st
Electrical/Electronic/Communications Engineering: 66th
Materials Engineering: 53rd

In the U.S. News Best Online Programs rankings, SBU’s Online Graduate Business Programs ranked 45th and the Online Graduate Nursing Programs ranked 13th.
Each year the rankings include programs in business, law, education, engineering and medicine, and for the first time this year, expanded rankings of master’s programs in nursing. The rankings in these six areas are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. The data come from surveys of administrators at nearly 1,900 graduate programs and more than 13,700 academics and professionals in the disciplines, conducted during the fall of 2014 and in early 2015.
