Is humankind running out of time to take action to prevent a climate, social, and economic catastrophe? Participants in this debate, part of the Provost’s Lecture Series, include:

Elizabeth Bass, Interim Director, Center for Communicating Science, Stony Brook University

Malcolm Bowman, Professor of Oceanography and Distinguished Service Professor, Stony Brook University

Elaine Kamarck, Lecturer in Public Policy, Harvard Kennedy School of Government; former White House aide in the Clinton Administration

Lee Koppelman, Professor of Political Science and Director, Center for Regional Policy Studies, Stony Brook University

Carl Safina, President, Blue Ocean Institute

The debate will be moderated by James Klurfeld, Professor of Journalism, Stony Brook University. This event is co-sponsored by the Humanities Institute and will be held on Tuesday, November 30, at 4:00 pm, Humanities Institute, Lecture Hall 1006.
