New Master’s Track in Medical Humanities Launched

MedicalHumanitiesApply now for an exciting new master’s degree track in Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care, and Bioethics at Stony Brook. The degree is unique in offering 30 credits that blend all three of its thematic areas. Students receive a comprehensive overview of the illness experience as captured by the medical humanities, and of the paradigm cases and methods of contemporary clinical ethics and bioethics.

Applications are welcomed from post-baccalaureate students in transition from the B.A. or B.S. to a professional degree and who wish to expand their knowledge, from healthcare professionals seeking further expertise and career development, and from individuals in a wide array of fields such as humanities, pastoral care, philosophy, politics, social science, the life sciences, law, medicine, nursing, business, social work, and journalism. No medical or scientific background is necessary.
