Recognizing Accomplishments of Female Athletes and Importance of Being Active
The Stony Brook University Department of Athletics and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host its annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, February 22. The day, which honors the accomplishments of female athletes and highlights the benefits of staying active, includes a clinic and ticket to the Stony Brook women’s basketball game vs. Albany.
To help promote an active and healthy lifestyle, Stony Brook will be holding a Youth Sports Clinic for children ages 6 to 13. Registration will begin in the Island Federal Credit Union Arena lobby at 1:30 pm. Sneakers and play clothes are required.
The $10 admission fee includes the clinic, T-shirt and a ticket to the women’s basketball game against rival Albany at 4 pm. Adults accompanying children to the game, which is a rematch of last season’s America East championship, will receive admission for a discounted rate of $5.
Pre-registration by February 18 is mandatory — Click here for the registration form.
Space is limited, so be sure to register for this great annual event today. In the case of inclement weather, registrants will be informed of any changes or cancellations via e-mail and on www.StonyBrookAthletics.com.
