The campus community will come together on Thursday, November 9, 2017, for the 12th Annual “Journey Around the World Multicultural Show and Food Tasting,” an evening dedicated to celebrating different cultures with performances and foods presented by various student organizations. The event highlights different cultures spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and the South Pacific.

Beginning at 8:00 pm, the program will incorporate performances by the Turkish American Student Association, Taiko Tides, Déjà Vu Dance, Cadence Step Team, Stony Brook Taandava, YUVA, Stony Brook Pipettes, The Greek and Cypriot Student Association, Sri Lankan Student Association, and more. Participants coming to the event will learn about the cultural significance of each performance, and then the focus will turn to the different food samples provided by numerous student clubs.
Over the years, hundreds have attended this annual tradition coordinated by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, in conjunction with the participating student groups. This year, the Undergraduate Student Government’s Director of Diversity Affairs Ian Lesnick and Senator Tahiana Abad also are collaborating with the office, to make this campus tradition a memorable special event.
Admission to the Journey Around the World Multicultural Show and Food Tasting is free and open to all members of the Stony Brook University community. For more information, please contact the Office of Multicultural Affairs at SAC 222, call (631) 632-7320, or visit the website.
