Move-In Day Kicks Off Opening Activities


Opening of School Activities kicked off on Friday, August 22, for all new students on move-in day. President Stanley was on hand to assist as hundreds of new and returning students carried essential items to their dorm rooms.

Events continued throughout the weekend, including the New Student Convocation, Undergraduate College programming, commuter student party, transfer student lunch, building tours, movies, and more.

Opening activities continue throughout September, with an exciting schedule of social, athletic, and academic events.

The Students Welcome Center offers a wealth of information on everything new students need to know—from academics, policies, and procedures to health, transportation, and leisure activities—as they navigate through their first semester at Stony Brook.
