Stony Brook University students answered the call for volunteers with an overwhelming response at the recent Miracle League of Long Island event. The baseball doubleheader, held at the University’s Joe Nathan Field, offered nearly 40 people with disabilities a chance to develop their social skills and increase self-esteem. More than 175 Seawolf buddies volunteered to help protect the players from balls and assist at batting and running bases.
