March of Dimes Walk May 1

Marchofdimes 1

MarchofDimesFor the first time, Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital has partnered with the March of Dimes to host its annual March for Babies. More than a million people in over 900 communities across the country participate in this walk, which raises money to create awareness and prevent birth defects, prematurity, and infant mortality.

Long Island’s walk will be held on our campus, and you are invited to represent Stony Brook, walk with your colleagues, friends, and neighbors, and raise money for this important cause.

You can form a team, or if walking isn’t your thing, there are also volunteer opportunities. It promises to be a festive and heartwarming event, perfect for the whole family.

Date: Sunday, May 1, 2011
Place: Stony Brook University West Campus; walk begins at the athletic fields behind Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium
Time: Registration begins at 8:30 am; walk begins at 10:00 am
Walk Distance: 3 miles
