2016 Assessment Symposium, February 19
The Faculty Center at Stony Brook University is hosting “Data Visualization: Presenting Data Effectively” on Friday, February 19, from 8:30 am to 4 pm in the Student Activities Center.
“If you are interested in learning how to visually represent your data in a way that will appeal to everyone and significantly increase impact, then this event is a must for you,” said Catherine Scott, an assessment specialist at the Faculty Center.
Keynote speaker Stephanie Evergreen, who founded Evergreendata, is a designer and researcher best known for bringing a research-based approach to helping researchers better communicate their work through more effective graphs, slides and reports. She has a PhD from Western Michigan University in interdisciplinary evaluation, which included a dissertation on the extent of graphic design use in written research reporting. She has trained researchers worldwide through keynote presentations and workshops for clients including Verizon, Head Start, American Institutes for Research, Rockefeller Foundation, Brookings Institute and the United Nations.
