Leading Futurist Ross Dawson to Speak on Campus, October 23

Ross dawson

Globally recognized futurist, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, strategy advisor and bestselling author Ross Dawson will discuss “Leadership for the Future of Work” at the Charles B. Wang Center Theater on Monday, October 23, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.

An extraordinary array of powerful forces is transforming business and society, including the exponential growth of connectivity, data and processing power, the rise of artificial intelligence, potent demographic shifts, and heightened social expectations. Perhaps the biggest impact will be on the world of work, with the potential for both massive disruption and far greater expression of talent and human possibility, while the rise of a networked society is increasing the risk of social polarization. Individuals and institutions need to understand the forces driving the emerging landscape of work, so they can provide the leadership necessary to tap our potential and create a vibrant, inclusive society.

Dawson has been named as one of the most influential people in the world in the future of work, Enterprise 2.0, and crowdfunding, and by Digital Media magazine as one of the 40 biggest players in Australia’s digital age. He is in strong demand globally, having delivered keynote speeches and strategy workshops in 29 countries across six continents, for leading organizations such as Coca-Cola, Google, ING, News Limited, Procter & Gamble, PwC, Visa and many others.

Dawson is CEO and Chief Futurist of the R7 Group of companies, which incorporates the marketing and innovation firm Rh7thm and multiple startup ventures. He was previously founding chairman of the Advanced Human Technologies group of companies, spanning professional services, publishing, events, apps and software development, which has been incorporated into R7 Group.

He is author of four books, including the acclaimed, Living Networks, which foresaw the social networking revolution; the Amazon.com bestseller, Developing Knowledge-Based Client Relationships, now out in its second edition; the highly successful Implementing Enterprise 2.0, and most recently Getting Results From Crowds, and has published more than 100 articles in leading publications worldwide.

His frequent media appearances include CNN, Bloomberg TV, SkyNews, ABC TV, Today and Sunrise shows, New York Times, The Guardian and many others.
