Kick-Out Cancer Kickball Tournament October 18

Kickball

Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is holding a special kickball tournament on Friday, October 18, at the Campus Recreation Field to benefit the Stony Brook Cancer Center. Students, faculty and staff can form teams of 8 to 10 players; registration is $20 per team. Snacks will be donated by O Sole Mio, Bagel Express and Stop and Shop. Prizes will be awarded for the tournament winner, the best dressed team and the largest donation from a team.

The Kick-Out Cancer Kickball Tournament — organized by Kerry Mahoney, Vice President for Clubs and Organizations, and others in USG — is a new collaboration with several other campus groups. Seawolves Against Cancer, the Belly Dance Team, The High C’s, the Pipettes and the Stony Brook Dance Team will be at the tournament.

“I knew we had some other clubs doing fundraising for similar things, so we decided to put them together to make one event,” said Mahoney. “We’ve never worked this way before.”

Have fun while benefitting cancer research right here on campus. Registration closes at 5 pm on Thursday, October 17. Click here for more information.
