Stony Brook offers many opportunities for the community to enjoy the campus. On a recent summer evening, hundreds of neighbors joined together to take in a film courtesy of the University.

On July 25, the Department of Athletics hosted its eighth annual Seawolves Movie Night at the Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Each year, a new film is chosen and projected on the big screen at the stadium. Participants were invited to bring in their own snacks and lawn chairs to watch the movie on the football field.

Members of SBU’s Division 1 men’s soccer and football teams came to enjoy the night while greeting and getting to know fans of all ages. Wolfie was on hand to entertain the crowd and take pictures.

With beautiful summer weather and a popular film, Disney’s 2017 hit Beauty and the Beast, more than 3,500 friends and family came to the stadium, making it the highest attended movie night to date.

The event was sponsored by Team Ardolino and Reality Connect USA, Hunt Enterprises, McDonalds and State Farm Insurance. There were also concessions available for the crowd as well as a tent displaying upcoming Stony Brook athletics games.
