diversity-logoStony Brook University is quickly moving forward in implementing the campus Diversity Plan. Included in the comprehensive document are opportunities for building the sense of community for our students and employees as well as the surrounding neighbors. In response, the University is launching a special event this fall, Stony Brook CommUniversity Day, scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2017 on the Academic Mall.

CommUniversity Day is a free campus-wide Open House designed to showcase the best of the Stony Brook campus community for the public and to build better campus and community relations. Through this event, the University seeks to provide visibility for campus departments and to create an engaging day for everyone.

We’re looking for campus proposals in the following categories:
• hands-on lab experiences
• interactive children’s activities
• student performances
• music performances
• health screenings
• mini-lectures
• campus tours
• sports clinics

If your area is interested in being considered for CommUniversity Day, please send a brief proposal outlining the scope of the activity (maximum 250 words) and the targeted audience to Joan Dickinson, Community Relations Director, at Joan.Dickinson@stonybrook.edu by June 24, 2017.
