Community Dance Classes Offered This Fall on Campus

The Center for Dance, Movement and Somatic Learning is now offering the community an exciting variety of dance and movement classes for adults and children taught by certified University faculty instructors for Fall 2013. This is a 10-week program that runs from September 14 through November 16. All classes are located on South Campus in Nassau Hall, Studio 104 and Studio 114.

Tuition for each class is $200. All East and West campus faculty and staff, and employees of Brookhaven National Lab, are eligible for a 20 percent tuition discount.

Saturdays
Integral Hatha Yoga Class, 8 am to 9:30 am, Instructor: Maria Loreta Celitan

Creative Movement for Children (ages 5 to 6), 10 am to10:45 am, Instructor: Maria Loreta Celitan

Spanish Classical and Bata de Cola class for Intermediate/Advanced Students, 11 am to 12 pm, Instructor: Maria Loreta Celitan

Moving from Within: Explorations into Anatomy, Physicality, Relationship and Space, 8 am to 9 am and 9 am to 10 am, Instructor: Bonnie DeLuca

Beginning Ballet, 2 pm to 3 pm, Instructor: Beth Trimm

Intermediate Ballet, 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, Instructor: Beth Trimm

Tuesdays
Dancehall (ages 13 to adult), 4 pm to 5 pm, Instructor: Joya Powell

Wednesdays
Time to Dance: The Latin American Tool Box, 8 pm to 9 pm, Instructors: Mark James and Karen Lupo

Thursdays
Beginner Flamenco, 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Instructor: Maria Loreta Celitan
