The Concorso d’Eleganza is held annually in recognition of Robert Cess, Marine Sciences Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Stony Brook University, whose interest in Italian automobiles, especially the Alfa Romeo, served as the inspiration and impetus for having this show each year. This event, sponsored by the University’s Center for Italian Studies, is a display of art forms on wheels as a means of illustrating one form of Italian culture. Various Italian car and motorcycle clubs will be represented.
Display vehicles will rally at the Stony Brook University main campus from 10 am to 1 pm on the lawn adjacent to the Graduate Physics Building and directly across from the Sports Complex off John S. Toll Drive. Participation and viewing is free and open to the public.
