Joshua Davis will discuss his work on Wednesday, October 11, during the annual Undergraduate College Commons Day. The talk will take place at 4 pm in the Sidney Gelber Auditorium in the Student Activities Center. It is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow.

Davis is a writer, film producer and co-founder of Epic Magazine, an online magazine devoted to extraordinary true stories. His writing has been featured in The New Yorker, GQ, Wired and Maxim. His book, Spare Parts: Four Undocumented Teenagers, One Ugly Robot, and the Battle for the American Dream, chronicles the real-life triumphs of a small robotics team that overcame staggering odds.

Spare Parts is a story about overcoming insurmountable odds and four young men who proved they were among the most patriotic and talented Americans in this country ― even as the country tried to kick them out.
