Tuition winners from past years

Each semester Money Smart Seawolves hosts a series of financial literacy workshops to educate students on important financial matters, providing them with the knowledge they need to make sound financial decisions. All students who attend are entered into a lottery, and two lucky participants will be chosen to win the value of in-state tuition for the following semester. New for 2015 is the Bring-a-Buddy program. Every buddy a student brings with them to the workshop equals one additional entry into the lottery. If they bring five buddies, they get five additional entries. There is no limit to the amount of buddies a student can bring.

The Spring 2015 workshop topics include Identity Theft, Dealing with Debt, and the World of Work. These workshops will guide you through some of the important financial decisions you will have to make in and out of the classroom. Workshops will be held on April 8, April 15 and April 22; all are held in Frey Hall, Room 100, from 1:10 pm to 2:10 pm.

Prize Rules: To enter, simply attend a Spring 2015 Money Smart Seawolves Financial Literacy workshop. Attendance throughout the entire duration is required along with completion and submission of the distributed pre-test and post-test. Students may attend each workshop topic. Limit one entry per workshop attended. “Bring a Buddy” entries are unlimited. “Bring a Buddy” entries require attendee to list names of “buddies” on their post-test, which will be cross-referenced against that “buddy’s” post-test. The names must correspond. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services is not responsible for illegible listings. The winner will be selected through a lottery drawing after the workshop series has concluded. Winner must agree to having their name announced and grant the use of a photograph for future promotional use. Student employees of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services are not eligible. Previous winners may attend workshops but are not eligible for the scholarship drawing.
