ariannahuffingtonArianna Huffington, Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Huffington Post, will be speaking at Staller Center on Monday, October 25, at 8:00 pm. The event is sponsored by Think Magazine, the University’s progressive, student-run publication.

Think Magazine was selected as a winner in a nationwide contest to host Huffington as she travels the country on a promotional tour for her latest book, Third World America. Think Magazine was selected as one of 15 finalists out of more than 200 nominees nationwide. More than 440,000 votes were cast in less than a week of voting, and Think Magazine was one of three winners.

“We’re incredibly excited to be given this opportunity to host Arianna,” said Think Magazine Executive Editor Katie Watt. “She’s one of the biggest names in journalism, in politics, and in pop culture.”

Huffington will appear on stage with moderator Howard Schneider, Dean of the School of Journalism. A 45-minute conversation will be followed by a question-and-answer segment, and Huffington will sign copies of her book before attending an invite-only reception sponsored by the Department of Political Science.

The talk is open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members on a first-come, first-served basis.

thinksb.com was selected as the 2009 Best Publication Web site in the country, and it is the only publication in the SUNY system to partner with Huffington Post College.
