On September 11, 2019, the 9/11 Heroes Blood Drive took place inside the Student Activities Center (SAC) at Stony Brook University. Dedicated to the memory of September 11, 2001 First Responders, this collaboration between the Stony Brook Student Blood Drive Committee, Environmental Health and Safety, and the New York Blood Center, resulted in the collection of  334 viable blood donations with the potential to save more than 1,000 lives. Stony Brook University Staller Center for the Arts gave each donor two tickets to attend Staller Center’s upcoming Fall 2019 Movie Series.

The next campus blood drive collaboration takes place on October 21, 2019, in SAC Ballroom A.
