27th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Opens October 5

hispanic-top-imageThe theme of this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month at Stony Brook University is “Esta es Nuestra Historia (This is Our Story).”

All faculty, staff and students are invited to the 27th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, October 5, from 1 pm to 2:20 pm in the Student Activities Center, Ballroom A. The ceremony includes a keynote presentation by Assistant Professor Lori A. Flores from the Department of History at Stony Brook, who won the 2016 International Latino Book Award.

Other highlights during the month include “A Conversation with Cristina Henriquez: The Book of Unknown Americans” on October 19 and the Closing Ceremony on November 2.
