“Inspiration and Empowerment: A Conversation for and about Women in the Workplace” will be held on Thursday, March 17, from 9 am to 4 pm in the Student Activities Center, Ballrooms A and B. This symposium is open to all Stony Brook employees, community members and anyone looking for inspiration and empowerment in their professional and personal lives.

The keynote speakers are Jessica Bacal, Director of the Wurtele Center for Work and Life at Smith College, and author of Mistakes I Made at Work: 25 Influential Women Reflect on What They Got Out of Getting it Wrong, and Tonjanita Johnson, Vice President for Communications and Marketing for the University of Tennessee System.
Stony Brook’s senior leaders Lynn Johnson, Vice President of Human Resource Services; Judith Greiman, Chief Deputy to the President and Vice President for Government and Community Relations; Susan Blum, Senior Counsel in Charge; and Mary Truhlar, Interim Dean of the School of Dental Medicine, will discuss what they’ve learned in their leadership journey.

The symposium includes continental breakfast, luncheon, break-out sessions, networking opportunities, a book signing and door prizes.
