Benjamin Cardozo was a Supreme Court Chief Judge and established the doctrine of implied warranty, the idea that the consumer has the right to return a defective product to the manufacturer. Learned Hand, a jurist from Albany who attended Harvard, wrote papers on copyright, monopoly and constitutional law.
