7. Did you know Stony Brook has brought some of the world’s greatest African American performers to campus? Jimi Hendrix performed on campus way back in 1968, Miles Davis in 1970, Notorious B.I.G., aka Biggie Smalls, in Spring 1996, and Ray Charles in Fall 2000. Do you recognize these names? Nas, The Fugees, Busta Rhymes, Doug E. Fresh, J.Cole, Spragga Benz, Buju Banton, Lupe Fiasco, Fetty Wap and Future also performed at SBU.
