Highlights from Stony Brook University’s 2017 Black History Month celebration included Opening Ceremony keynote speaker author Sulma Arzu-Brown; a spoken word/open mic contest; a Black Civil Rights seminar examining the increased awareness of the rise of White Nationalism in the United States; and the NAACP Image Awards ceremony, celebrating those on campus who have consistently served their community.
