SETAUKET, NY, May 5, 2026 – Jane So, MD, FACOG, has joined Stony Brook Gynecology and Obstetrics, a practice of Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group, Stony Brook Medicine’s expanding network of community practices. Dr. Jane So is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with more than 10 years of experience and is committed to advancing obstetric safety and quality of care.

“We are beyond excited to have Dr. So join our practice,” said Melanie Van Sise, MD, FACOG, Physician, Stony Brook Gynecology and Obstetrics. “She is a superb physician who has cared for women in our community for many years. We are so fortunate to have her join our team of dedicated providers.”

Throughout her career, Dr. So has led and contributed to numerous quality initiatives addressing obstetric hemorrhage, sepsis and cesarean delivery reduction. She is actively involved in national professional organizations, including the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists, where she has served in leadership roles on the Safety and Quality Committee.

“I am thrilled to join Stony Brook Gynecology and Obstetrics,” said Dr. So. “I am excited to collaborate with such an exceptional team of providers, and to contribute to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to the communities we serve.”

Dr. So earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Stony Brook University Hospital. She is recognized for her dedication to education, simulation-based training, and compassionate, patient-centered care. She values building trusted relationships with her patients while fostering collaborative, evidence-based practice in obstetrics.
