SMITHTOWN, NY, August 10, 2026 – Bestin Kuriakose, DO, has joined Long Island Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, a practice of Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group, part of Stony Brook Medicine’s expanding network of community practices.

Dr. Kuriakose is a board-certified, fellowship-trained physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. His expertise includes fluoroscopy-guided spinal procedures, peripheral joint interventions, and the evaluation and discussion of nonsurgical treatment options.

Dr. Kuriakose earned his medical degree from the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, where he served as academic chief resident during his final year. He further advanced his expertise by completing a fellowship in interventional spine medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.
Prior to joining Long Island Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, he practiced in both academic and private settings, providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with spinal and musculoskeletal conditions.
