Celebrity Performances Feature Lainie Kazan, Joely Fisher and Michele Lee
STONY BROOK, NY,
June 2, 2011 – The 6th Annual Summer Soiree By Day, presented by the National Pediatric MS (multiple
sclerosis) Center at Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital, features an afternoon of delectable dining, entertainment, and auction prizes. The event, which starts at 11:30 a.m., benefits pediatric MS research conducted at the Center. It will be held at the Glen Head Country Club in Glen Head, N.Y., on July 26.
The Summer Soiree is a themed event where guests dress in “casual chic” to fit the warm season. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Team Adventure Camp Program, an annual free summer camp program for adolescents living with MS.
Well-recognized entertainers Lainie Kazan, Joely Fisher, and Michele Lee will perform selections from the hit Broadway show “The Vagina Monologues.” Throughout the buffet, a live and silent auction will also take place.
The National Pediatric MS Center at SBUMC, part of Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital, was established to advance the recognition, evaluation, and treatment of pediatric MS through the creation of a multidisciplinary program dedicated to clinical care and scientific research of children and adolescents with MS. The Center includes a team of experts in MS, pediatric neurology, nursing psychiatry, and neuropsychology. The National Pediatric MS Center has been designated a Center of Excellence by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
