“I am extremely disappointed by the recent ruling of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that declared the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program illegal. At Stony Brook University, the high-achieving young people in DACA contribute in many invaluable ways to our campus community, our local community, and our nation. It remains in America’s best interest to enable our DACA students to use their knowledge and skills to make the strongest possible contribution to our country. Congress must enact a bipartisan policy immediately that provides permanent solutions for DACA recipients. Stony Brook University will continue to stand by our DACA students and advocate for their protection.”
