Next Science on Tap to Discuss the “Science of Taste”
SBU’s Center for Communicating Science aims to demystify science in an informal setting

STONY BROOK, NY, December 5, 2012 – “Science on Tap,” a live event and web show created by the Stony Brook University School of Journalism’s Center for Communicating Science, is back at The Bench in Stony Brook on December 12 at 6:30 pm with featured topic, “Savory Science: food, flavor and feelings.”
“Science on Tap” host Steven Reiner, formerly of 60 Minutes and now a Broadcast Journalism professor at Stony Brook, will be joined by guest scientist, Alfredo Fontanini in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior, to discuss the science of taste. Alfredo Fontanini is a PECASE Award-winning neuroscientist studying the neurological connections between taste, smell and mood. Join us for discussion and dinner to learn how your emotions affect what you are eating.
