Stony Brook University Launches New Amazon Pickup Location

STONY BROOK, NY, November 3, 2016 – A new Amazon pick up location opened today on the campus of Stony Brook University. Located in the Frank Melville Jr. Library, Amazon@StonyBrook is a fully staffed pickup location where students and the campus community can conveniently get course materials and other college essentials ordered through Amazon. Stony Brook University is the first college campus in New York state, and one of only 15 colleges in the United States, to offer an Amazon pickup location. Earlier this year, Amazon also became the official bookstore for the university.
Amazon@StonyBrook benefits include:
- Students and faculty receive Free One-Day Shipping on required textbooks & course materials sold by Amazon or Fulfilled by Amazon when shipped to the Amazon pickup location, or campus-area zip codes.
- Free One-Day Pickup on millions of items for Amazon Prime Student and Prime members when shipping to the Amazon@StonyBrook location. Order by 11 p.m. and pick up the next day.

In addition to textbooks and required course material, students can purchase almost any item that is sold by Amazon.com or Fulfilled by Amazon and ship to the Amazon@StonyBrook location. Additionally, Amazon Prime members receive expedited shipping benefits. Students can sign up for an Amazon Prime Student membership and get a six-month trial followed by 50% off the regular price of Prime.
