April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month — Stony Brook “Stands Up”

STONY BROOK, NY, MARCH 31, 2015 – In observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a national campaign facilitated annually by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), the Center for Prevention and Outreach (CPO), student groups and administration at Stony Brook University are launching a month-long calendar of events that will address issues ranging from healthy sexuality to empowering survivors to bystander intervention, April 1 – 30, 2015. 

A VIP Workshop titled Bystander Basics workshop will kick off the awareness and prevention campaign on April 1. Other events will include the Monument Quilt Event on April 3, Green Dot on April 25 training, Take Back the Night on April 29, and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Resources workshops.
