SOUTHAMPTON, NY November 24, 2015 – Stony Brook Southampton will host the traditional holiday lighting of the Windmill and reception in Chancellors Hall on Friday, December 4, from 5 to 7 pm.
This year’s Windmill Lighting program, free and open to the public, will feature the iconic Windmill and seasonal refreshments catered by the Amagansett Food Institute (AFI). The family-friendly festivities will include performances by the Southampton High School Brass Quartet, Balloons by Mr. Twisty and crafts for children.

Following the Windmill Lighting and reception, Stony Brook University’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences’ (SoMAS) Ph.D. student Amber Stubler, who has researched sponges and seagrasses, will host a discussion regarding how ocean acidification is reshaping coral reefs.
