WHAT:
Marine Sciences Center will host “Clams for Clams” cocktail reception fundraiser and tour to raise funds to restore Shinnecock Bay and strengthen the local clam population. Guests can adopt/sponsor clam spawner sanctuaries at various donation levels.
Photographic/Interview opportunity: first-hand report of the health of East End bays.

WHY:
Funds will support the efforts of the Shinnecock Bay Restoration Program (ShiRP) to restore the bay to its former health, including building clam sanctuaries to enhance clam reproductive output, increase water quality and help control harmful algae bloom. Different level sponsorships are available

Directions:
Take I-495 (Long Island Expressway) east to Exit 70, then turn right on County Road 111; follow the signs for State Route 27 East/Montauk – Sunrise Highway. Take Route 27 East (which becomes County Road 39) and proceed 19 miles to the Southampton Campus. While the event will be held at the Marine Sciences Center on 8 Little Neck Road, parking has been reserved in the Stony Brook Southampton parking lot just across Montauk Highway near the Avram Theatre. For your convenience and safety, a shuttle bus is available to take you to the Marine Sciences Center (2 minute ride).
