STONY BROOK, NY, June 11, 2014 – Two award-winning wordsmiths, a healthcare executive, a senior financial executive and a veteran research engineer with deep networking roots in Silicon Valley comprise the June 2014 slate of new members of the Stony Brook Alumni Association Board of Directors.

The new board members – each of whom have been active Alumni Association members for years – were appointed to three-year terms, said Carol Gomes, President of the Stony Brook Alumni Association.

“Shashi, Kent, Tracy, Joe and Patrick proudly represent the growth and strength of our Alumni Association as we continue to strengthen and deepen our Stony Brook footprint across the country and around the globe,” Gomes,`90, `97, said. “Their collective talents, pride and passion for Stony Brook will ensure we continue to reach and serve our 155,000 alumni, increase alumni participation and support, and raise our rankings and national profile.”

The new members are Shashi Agarwal Ph.D ’79 and Kent Gustavson Ph.D ’04, ’07
