STONY BROOK, N.Y., September 30, 2009 – Dr. Samuel L. Stanley, Jr., President, Stony Brook University, got a seasonal influenza vaccine from Maureen Pavone, RN, at Student Health Services on campus, demonstrating that seasonal flu vaccine is now available to students. Dr. Stanley, an infectious disease specialist, supports the message that students, faculty and staff at Stony Brook University should do all they can to protect themselves from getting the seasonal flu by getting vaccinated.
