Stony Brook Alumni Association Golf Outing Benefits Student Scholarships

Stony Brook, N.Y., June 30, 2010 – On Monday, June 21, 2010, the Stony Brook Alumni Association hosted its annual Scholarship Golf Classic at the Hamlet Willow Creek Golf and Country Club in Mt. Sinai, New York. This year’s Scholarship Golf Classic event was the Association’s most successful golf outing to date and the funds raised will be entirely dedicated to Alumni Association-sponsored student scholarship awards.
Attending the scholarship awards dinner following the outing were a few of the 2009 Stony Brook University student scholarship winners Anne Di Salvo, Geordan Kushner, and Jason Shank “This scholarship from the Alumni Association means so much, “said Di Salvo, “ in fact, it made it possible for me to be the first person in my family to graduate from college.”

This year’s Scholarship Golf Classic sponsors included Simplex Grinnell, Liberty Mutual, TR Pipe Inc., Campolo, Middleton & Associates LLP, Faculty Staff Association, Mark J.
