For the first time in Stony Brook history, the carnival came to campus. Undergraduate Student Government sponsored the event, dubbed Wolfieland, on Saturday, September 10.
Wolfieland featured all the carnival fun a Seawolf could hope for — game booths hosted by student clubs, pop-up carnival rides including a ferris wheel, Gravitron and mechanical bull, and of course, cotton candy. Many students came out to enjoy the fun, creating the kind of lines you’d expect to see at Disney World.
“I think it’s a great way to start off the new semester,” said Rebecca Molino ’16, a graduate student in sociology.
Marianna Cantella ’18 agreed, saying, “I think it’s really cool that they’re putting this on this year — it’s a lot of fun.”
With the overwhelming success of the event, Wolfieland may become a new tradition at Stony Brook — fingers crossed.
