New York State has partnered with Stony Brook University to begin drive-through testing for the coronavirus at Stony Brook University’s South P Lot off Stony Brook Road. Residents can make advance appointments by calling 888-364-3065. Hours of operation are seven days a week, 7 am to 7 pm.
Anyone from across Long Island, not just in Suffolk, who has contacted the New York State Department of Health (DOH) at 888-364-3065 and is part of the highest-risk population as determined by DOH will be tested. Anyone who believes they’re at risk should call the DOH Hotline, 888-364-3065, and talk to experts to determine if and how they should be tested. Walk-ins will not be seen.

The representatives pick up and sound like robots. They don’t seem to even care. How are these “professionals” helping us?!

Still waiting on a call for my results as of 3/26/20
It’s been four days since I called to ask to get tested. They said they would “put my request” and I will receive a call back, I have not received anything. It’s incredible.
Took test through drive in last Friday and said I could go online after 48 hrs to get results. No results posted after 3.5 days. Called number waited on hold for over an hour and no answer. Poor communications to public even after program has been in place for weeks. Still don’t know if I have the virus or the flu.
Was on hold less than 5 minutes, got a call back the next day. Scheduled testing for the following day, my appointment was at 8:30am, I was tested and one my home by 8:45. Very organized, safe and good job to all, thank you.
I called to get screened on the COVID hotline on Monday. I received a call from DOH on Tuesday and had an appointment for Thursday. The process at Stony Brook was very organized. Upon arrival, guards point you in the necessary direction and there are reminders everywhere to keep your windows up. Your ID is checked about 4 times along the way. The folks there were very prompt and nice. I arrived early and had no issues being seen. The test took like 5 seconds of a swab up my nose and I was on my way. The overall process took less than 10 minutes.
How long did it take to get your results?
So blessed. The call is to the DOH and not SBU but they also did a great job and are inundated with calls. SBU was very efficient and very careful how they handled things. I cannot say enough good things bout the doctors, people and soldiers out there risking their lives on our behalf. Thank you for all you do. Prayers for everyone’s health and well being and patience thru this ordeal .
What was the test like? Is it the insane swab?
No not at all. Takes 2 seconds. They tell you to breathe as its being done. No discomfort at all
I’m thankful for their work, everything was done smoothly and quickly, I got my results in 24 hours.
You guys are so irrational. These are unprecedented times and these people who are kind enough to volunteer and are beyond overwhelmed with the cases. So before u go to write a negative comment consider what you have done to help. Probably nothing. They are doing their best.
I have never waited on line or on the phone they. Call to set up appointment. They call back you go and it’s done in about 15 minutes
Went Jan 20 2021 no appointment and took 15 minutes from start to finish. The longest time was driving thru the cones!
Highly recommended
Signed up on portal and hoping for results tomorrow
Only need u drivers license no fee
