Stony Brook to Host Annual Veterans Day Ceremony, Nov. 10

Veterans day

Veterans dayIn honor of our veterans, Stony Brook University will be hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 10, at 1 pm at the Sidney Gelber Auditorium in the Student Activities Center. This event will include performances from the Stony Brook Marching Band along with a Presentation of Colors from the ROTC Culper Battalion.

Ismael Rodriguez, Student Affairs’ senior business partner, financial operations and director of Military and Veterans Affairs, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Rodriguez is an accomplished United States Navy and Army combat veteran with eight years of service, including tours in California, Arizona and North Carolina.

As director for Military and Veteran Affairs here at Stony Brook University, Rodriguez has provided his leadership and vision to increase veteran awareness on campus and ensure counseling and psychological services to veteran students, and has cultivated an effective ROTC program for students.

Stony Brook University annually celebrates Veterans Day and will resume with an in-person ceremony following last year’s virtual celebration.
